Marketing Assistant Job Description

Chestnut Ridge Sewing is seeking an experienced Marketing Assistant to join our growing team! Chestnut Ridge is a BERNINA Sewing Machine Dealer located in Millersburg, Ohio. We sell and repair BERNINA sewing machines, offer sewing and quilting classes, host sewing events, and offer a wide variety of fabrics and notions.

The Marketing Assistant position is a vital part of our business. The Marketing Assistant is a detail-oriented individual who can quickly and effectively move from one task to another and be able to quickly pivot to the needs of what is happening in the store that day. We employ a fun and hardworking team and look forward to adding the right individual to fill this position!

This role is suited for a highly organized, tech-savvy individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is keen to grow with the company. The starting wage for the Marketing Assistant is $18.50/hr-$22.50/hr ($38,480-$46,800 per year). We also offer some bonuses and a 401k.

Responsibilities:

• Update and maintain the website regularly with new products, classes, and content.
• Manage and update online listings and maintain our Shopify store.
• Coordinate and post content on various social media platforms.
• Assist in the setup and promotion of in-store events and classes.
• Monitor and respond to customer inquiries on social media and other online platforms.
• Provide support at events and classes in the way of setup and support for event coordination.
• Assist in customer service for store as needed (filling in from time to time).

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven team player with strong organizational and professionalism skills.
• Self-motivated with a problem-solving attitude.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and social media platforms.
• Experience with Canva and Shopify preferred.
• Interest or background in the sewing and quilting industry is a plus.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Proficient in computer-use, digital tools, and platforms used for marketing.

Work Hours and Benefits:

• Full time work hours Mon-Fri. During events/seminars, these hours may increase based on the support needed for the event.
