Chevo Consulting is currently hiring an experience in Sr. IT Program Manager with experience in budget execution and/or Business Management. Qualified candidates must be capable of leading projects that involve the successful management of multi-functional teams. Specialized experience includes project development, expertise in management and control of funds and resources, and demonstrated capability in managing multiple tasks. This position will be a hybrid work environment. Client location is in Washington D.C.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Organizes, directs, and manages Portfolio and Program Management functions; data governance and management initiatives; individual IT projects, including definition and implementation of IT strategy.
- Maintains and manages the client interface at the senior levels.
- Works with
- COR to formulate and review task plans and deliverable items.
- Establish and maintain technical and financial reports to show progress of projects and effectively identify and manage risks, organizes and delegates responsibilities to subordinates, and oversees the successful completion of all assigned tasks.
- Oversee the work of multiple Contractor project managers and analysts responsible for planning and executing project management and process improvement tasks.
- Ensure appropriate application of process improvement, portfolio management, project management, change management, acquisition management, and systems and requirements engineering methodologies and principles to conduct process modernization projects and day-to-day contract management.
- Responsible for ensuring Contractor staff supporting IT project management activities are appropriately skilled in group facilitation, interviewing, presentation, requirements documentation, writing, concept visualization, and additional forms of communication and knowledge transfer commensurate with their responsibilities.
- Support coordination between FEMA Program leadership and contractor project teams to ensure enterprise-wide integration of efforts.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in business, public administration or an information technology related field.
- Possess at least 12 years of business management experience, including 6 years in managerial and team development roles.
- Have a minimum of 6 years of experience in IT project or program management.
- Demonstrate at least 3 years of recent leadership experience advising senior executives and mid-level managers on large-scale federal IT Acquisition Programs.
- Exhibit proficiency in Agile software development methods (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and working knowledge of software such as JIRA, Confluence, MS Office Suite, MS Teams, SharePoint, and Visio.
- Previous experience supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
Desired requirements:
- Experience in financial management, cost estimating, procurement strategic planning and execution, or business management
- Ability to lead multi-functional teams on projects
- Experience in project development and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Expertise in management and control of funds and resources, demonstrated capability in managing multiple projects
