Job Summary: The Job Coach is responsible for providing support in assisting the supported employee to maintain a job or position on a contract crew; providing on-the-job training and supervision to workers with disabilities; ensuring that employees maintain all work standards applicable to the post and assisting employees in maintaining the daily work routine.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coaching
- Provide support involved in assisting the supported employee to maintain the job or position on the contract crew.
- Provide on-the-job training and/or supervision to workers with disabilities that include the following:
- Ensure that employees maintain all work standards applicable to the position
- Assist employees in maintaining the daily work routine
- Organize and assist employees with work materials
- Promote courtesy when interacting with customers and
- Promote socialization skills with the various job site coworkers
- Provide support involved in helping workers with disabilities maintain their position by doing the following:
- Assist employees with personal hygiene and any medical issues
- Assist employees in exhibiting appropriate work behaviors and addressing inappropriate behaviors.
- Provide transportation to supported employees as necessary, and
- Attend in-services and other required meetings.
- Attend and complete all CHI Centers and DDA required training within established deadlines.
Administration
- Participate in Team Meetings to develop and implement an Individual Plan (IP) for the supported employee to include the following:
- Participate with the interdisciplinary team in matching the employee strengths to the job needs.
- Completing paperwork necessary for ITM’s,
- Maintain records of work performed by the management of the sites,
- Maintain accurate attendance information,
- Inform parents and other team members about the daily progress and any scheduling changes,
- Write and implement vocational goals
- Implement behavioral program plans (as needed)
- Promote positive public relations between CHI Centers, the employer, and the community
- Inform the employer of any issues or planned absence,
- Provide transportation to the participant as needed.
- Assure the privacy of participant information by appropriately limiting disclosure of Protected Information to those who are directly responsible for the treatment and administration of the participant. Store, handle and share Protected Information in accordance with CHI Centers policies and HIPAA regulations.
- Perform all other tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
- Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged standing, leaning, walking, bending, and lifting periods.
- Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times
