JOB TITLE: Coordinator, Game Entertainment DEPARTMENT: Marketing REPORTS TO: Sr. Coordinator, Brand Activation FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt ROLE This role will support the Director of Brand & Player Marketing and Sr. Coordinator of Brand Activation by flawlessly executing gameday entertainment and other flagship brand events. This is primarily an executional & logistics-oriented position RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in booking guests and talent for all game entertainment elements including the Ceremonial First Pitch, 7th Inning Stretch, National Anthem performance, USO Military Honorees and Color Guard Host game entertainment guests/talent and manage their movement throughout the ballpark on gameday. Write accurate and engaging gameday scripts for all game entertainment elements and submit them in a timely fashion. Work with Marketing, Production, Partnerships, Ticketing and Community Affairs to execute all pre-game and in-game activations. Ensure all contractually obligated elements are fulfilled as agreed. Stay abreast of best-in-class game entertainment trends across professional sports and help identify test-and-learn opportunities that fit within the Cubs and Wrigley Field brands. Coordinate with Brand Programs Associate for gameday duties. Manage all coordination and communication with Cubs Convention host hotel including reservations, catering, room set up, AV support, and all programming which includes player appearances. Develop staffing models that ensure the successful execution of the annual Cubs Convention. Track Cubs Convention ticket sales and provide regular updates to key stakeholders. Provide on-site staffing support during Convention weekend. Fulfill other duties as assigned by Sr. Coordinator of Brand Activation. Support the Director with the planning and execution of any post-season brand experiences and Cubs Hall of Fame inductions. Research and create custom adhoc pre- and post-game events, as well as non-game events including annual ownership event in LA, and post season activations with the City of Chicago. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 4 year undergraduate degree in marketing, business, or communications from an accredited university At least two years experience in entertainment event planning At least one year experience securing entertainment and performances Previous event experience with entertainment ties in the Chicagoland area Demonstrated creativity, organizational, and planning skills Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload; take ownership and administer projects with little guidance while adhering to deadlines Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Flexibility and ability to work a varied schedule to include evenings, weekends and holidays PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Strong baseball knowledge and understanding of Cubs history and fan base 2 years demonstrated success in event planning and execution Strong communication skills Self-starter with leadership aptitude Excellent interpersonal and team building skills among all organizational levels Ability to make decisions and work under pressure Response Expectations: Due to the overwhelming number of applications we receive, we unfortunately may not be able to respond in person to each applicant.
