Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc. (CPLC) is a non-profit organization and one of the largest Hispanic Community Development Corporations in the United States. The organization began with a group of student and community activists in 1967, and was incorporated and received non-profit status in 1969. CPLC is committed to empowering individuals through health & human services, housing, education, and economic development.
We have various volunteer opportunities:
- Program long-term volunteers and unpaid interns provide direct service, therefore go through a thorough onboarding experience to ensure safety of service recipients. These volunteers are regularly scheduled in the program and made a long-term commitment. Must 18 years of age or older.
- Episodic volunteers are managed by Resource Development (RD) staff. These roles are not providing direct service, therefore are subject to a Sterling background check. They are typically volunteering for one assignment and then complete. Must 18 years of age or older.
