What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Specialist position at Chick-fil-A Farmington?
At Farmington Chick-fil-A, we strive to have the freshest food possible. That means we have deliveries every morning (Monday-Friday) from our distributor! We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and professional inventory specialist to come in from 4am-8am, Monday through Friday, to help us get our back of house inventory organized and set up properly so that we can serve our guests well throughout the day.
General Responsibilities:
- Place delivery orders utilizing ordering system technology
- Put away food and paper items delivered on each mornings' truck using a strict FIFO method (first in, first out) and other best practices
- Keep all storage neatly organized, with all boxes opened neatly and correctly and all items properly labeled and in their correct location
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels, ensuring that enough food product and supplies are on hand
- Organize chicken in the freezer by putting the newest chicken in the back so that it gets rotated properly each day
- Count and track all inventory in the store on a daily basis
- Ensure missing inventory items are accounted for each day by communicating with our distributor
- Process all returns and claims in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensure that all invoices are correctly processed and filed, with all exceptions clearly noted
- Consistently communicate with the leadership team regarding inventory issues and concerns
- Complete daily truck order to maintain on-hand inventory
REQUIREMENTS:
- The ability to lift heavy objects such as boxes, pallets and other items weighing up to 50lbs.
- Organizational skills: A person who is highly attentive to details and can correctly organize and rotate inventory (First in, First out) daily.
- Must be able to work in both freezing cold (freezer, walk-in cooler) and hot environments (the kitchen).
- Must be available between the hours of 4am -8am (Monday - Friday)

In our kitchens, we focus on fresh and simple ingredients. And we always have. Since the beginning, we've served chicken that is whole breast meat, with no added fillers or hormones, and we bread it by hand in our restaurants. Produce is delivered fresh to our kitchens several times a week. Salads are chopped and prepared fresh throughout the day. It may not be the easy way, but it's the only way we know.
