Job Posting for Preschool Director at Chickadee Hollow Outdoor Preschool
Come play on the beach! Our preschool is a fully-outdoor rain-or-shine program located in a beautiful park on the Stillaguamish River surrounded by creeks, meadows, mountains, and forest. Easy access from I-5 or Hwy 9. Instruction is in Spanish.
The position is just under 8 hours per week during the school year, including 2 flex hours of administrative time and 5.5 hours of teaching on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Administrative hours begin mid-August and school is in session until June 19, 2025 with three breaks. The Lead teacher will commit to the school year. Small class size and 1:4 teacher-child ratio.
Tasks:
Respond to emails, send invoices and receipts, provide parents with weekly pictures and updates, announce weather cancellations, collaborate on policy updates, assist lead teacher in developing activity plans and carrying materials, engage children in the outdoor classroom, ensure safety of children at all times.
Required Qualifications:
Fluent in Spanish. Experience in early childhood education.
Preferred: Degree in early childhood education preferred; experience in a language immersion or dual language program strongly preferred. Experience in preschool administration preferred; must be excellent at parent communication. Must be able to complete tasks independently; administrative hours will be completed remotely. Willing to work in all weather and acquire appropriate outdoor clothing to keep you comfortable in all weather ($100 stipend per year provided with an additional $100 sign-on stipend).
