What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parent Mentor position at Child & Family Services Inc?
Child & Family Services is looking for a full-time 40 hour/week Parent Mentor to join our Cape office team. The purpose of the Parent Mentor Program is to increase the parenting/life skills of the clients in order to eliminate the need for protective services within the family system.
BA $20.50/HOUR; HS/GED $19.00/HOUR (ADDITIONAL LANGUAGE INCREASE)
Qualifications:
- 21 years of age or older
- Bachelor’s Degree in social work or related field or life experience with associates degree or high school diploma will also be considered
Responsibilities: The following responsibilities are not meant to be all inclusive and may be adjusted to meet the agency’s needs
- Establish positive working relationships with clients referred to program.
- Carry a case load of 12-15 clients seen on a weekly basis through home visitation.
- Provide role modeling and hands on training to clients in the following areas: parenting skills, budgeting, nutrition, domestic organization, time management, hygiene and other areas as deemed necessary upon assessment.
- Participation in weekly individual supervision as well as bi-weekly group supervision.
- Maintain client files in accordance with agency standards and contractual obligations.
- Maintain close contact with referring social workers.
