What are the responsibilities and job description for the ABA Behavior Consultant position at Child Guidance Resource Centers?

CGRC’s ABA Program is expanding! ABA Behavior Consultants conduct functional behavioral assessments (FBA) that drive the treatment plan and ABA programs. ABA Behavior Consultants provides ABA therapy to children with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder in the home, school, and community settings. ABA Behavior Consultants develop individualized treatment plans with the family and monitor client progress towards goals. The ABA Behavior Consultant will supervise the implementation of behavioral assessment measures, functional assessment, and treatment plan implementation.

If you’re looking for the opportunity to share and expand your competencies using evidence-based therapy, consisting of techniques that change behavior and uses ongoing evaluations to understand why problematic behaviors occur then CGRC’s ABA Services program is for you! Therapists use a variety of clinically based interventions such as talk, play, art, cognitive behavioral therapy, and other strategies to help you and your child reach the agreed upon treatment plan goals.

Some responsibilities include:

  • Conduct any necessary assessment, including but not limited to, the Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP), Assessment of Functional Living Skills (AFLS), functional behavioral assessments (FBA) that will drive the treatment plan and ABA programs.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans (e.g., goals, objectives, and interventions) with the family and monitor client progress towards goals.
  • Supervise the implementation of behavioral assessment measures (e.g., VB-MAPP, Vineland), functional assessment, and treatment plan implementation.
  • Provide ABA therapy to children with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in the home, school, and community settings.
  • Transfer the treatment plan implementation skills to all mediators, (i.e., parent, teacher, caregivers).
  • Develop appropriate behavioral data collection systems such that quantifiable behavioral data is collected at regular intervals to allow for the continual evaluation of treatment plans and the achievement of individual goals and objectives.
  • Consult and coordinate regularly with all mediators of the treatment plan (i.e. parent, teacher, caregivers).
  • Consult and collaborate with schools, daycares, medical professionals, and other related disciplines.
