We are hiring for 2 positions. These will be temporary roles expected to last through the end of 2022.
Location: 117 West 124th Street, New York, NY 10027Hourly rate: $20 - $30 (rate will be based on factors such as experience, and skills)Weekly hours: 35 hours/ per weekPosition Summary: The Office of Talent Management and Human Resources (TMHR) at Children’s Aid supports the organization’s workforce through an array of functions. Reporting to the Manager of TMHR Operations, the Human Resources Assistant supports the overall day-to-day operation of the department while being flexible to the changing needs.
Responsibilities:
General Support (80%)
- Perform a wide range of duties related to the creation, maintenance and processing of personnel records (new hires, transfers, promotions, etc.); and work with business partners to ensure compliance with TMHR’s policies and guidelines.
- Respond to TMHR inquiries via phone/e-mail/fax; and screen to appropriate parties as needed.
- Process employment verification requests as needed.
- Create agency identification cards and distribute accordingly.
- Guide programs/departments on the agency’s process for new hires and personnel changes.
- Partner with programs/departments to help improve operational efficiency.
- Obtain pre-employment paperwork for prospective hires and follow-up to ensure completion.
- Assist with new employee orientation.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives, and other tasks/assignments as needed.
- Contribute to team efforts, and adjust to the changing needs of the overall TMHR functions.
Tracking and Monitoring (10%)
- Maintain an up-to-date tracking system for I-9 verifications and employment status; follow-up with employees for updated verification documents.
- Track new hire orientation data.
Data and Systems Support (10%)
- Utilize HR systems to review personnel data and help ensure data integrity across multiple platforms.
- Liaise with members of TMHR to resolve system discrepancies with personnel data, and escalate issues.
- Support the TMHR team with internal audits and clean-up projects.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2 years of relevant experience in an office/administrative setting; experience in Human Resources is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Easily navigate systems and databases.
- Highly organized and task oriented, with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting.
- Ability to effectively communicate, and provide good customer service at various levels.
- Function as a collaborative team member.
- Comfortable with uncertainty and changing needs.
- High standards of ethic with sensitive and confidential information required.
