ABOUT THE JOB:
Summary:
This on-site position is responsible for implementing the Children's Health System Texas (CHST) patient safety strategic initiatives. The Program Manager will work closely with patient safety senior leadership, facility senior leadership, and clinical leaders to identify and address improvement opportunities to improve the delivery of safe patient care across CHST. This includes developing and continuously improving systems that support the systematic detection, collection, and analysis of patient safety events. This role interprets and presents findings and improvement work to appropriate committees at the facility and system level. The program manager has expertise in patient safety science and leverages that expertise to promote high reliability and a culture of safety across CHST.
This is an on-site position.
Responsibilities:
* Accountable for the deployment of CHST wide patient safety programming across the network.
* Leverages safety science expertise and utilizes patient safety methodologies to infuse high reliability and safety culture throughout the network.
* Coordinates and facilitates the investigation, review and disposition of patient safety events though interviews, medical record and literature reviews and utilization of appropriate investigative tools.
* Utilizes high level organizational skills to manage large scale patient safety projects.
* Lead patient safety strategic initiatives to address improvement opportunities borne out of data tracking and analysis.
* Present/discuss patient safety data to/with physicians, staff, and Children’s senior leadership when appropriate.
* Systematically analyzes patient safety data and presents findings to senior leaders throughout the network to drive meaningful improvements.
* Promotes continuous improvement of the CHST patient safety program to meet the needs of patients and families.
* Actively engages leaders across the network to ensure that the voice of the customer is heard.
* Drives service lines to develop and implement improvement plans that focus on the wholistic delivery of safe, highly reliable patient care.
WORK EXPERIENCE
* At least 7 years related experience Required
EDUCATION
* Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing Required
* Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience Preferred
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
* Current RN license in the State of Texas Required
* CPPS 1 Year Required
* CPHQ Preferred
