Job Description
The Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) at Children's Wisconsin Skywalk Pharmacy West Allis is responsible for managing patients enrolled in the medication synchronization program by providing a high-level of customer service to ensure patient medication needs are met. The responsiblities include calling patients/famillies monthly to schedule the home delivery, data entry/processing, and prior authorization management.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; graduate of a pharmacy tech program preferred.
- Three years' experience as a retail pharmacy technician at CHW or equivalent.
- PTCB certification required within 1 year.
- Ability to work well under pressure due to time constraints and varying workloads.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to read and write at a level where the candidate can review and update patient profiles, as well as understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong proficiency in mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and proportions at a level normally acquired through completion of high school.
- Analytical skills necessary to evaluate problems and develop solutions.
- Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.
- Proficient computer skills to process medication orders, enter information, generate labels, and retrieve patient information.
Additional Posting Description
The hours at the West Allis location are weekdays from 8 am to 4:30 pm. The role also includes working the weekend rotation (1:6) at Children's Skywalk Pharmacy at the hospital campus with current hours of 10 am to 2 pm.
