JOB TITLE: Mental Health Worker (Spanish Speaking)
REPORTS TO (Title): Mental Health Professional/Supervisor
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Mental Health Workers are the primary School Readiness Program Services (SRPS) direct
service staff, providing screenings, assessments, case management services, and brief parenting
education interventions using Infant-Parent Relationship, SEAMTM, and Positive Parenting
Program (Triple P) Tip Sheets curricula.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: |
Provide 12 or more home visits a week to families participating in the SRPS |
Provide assessments and interventions with the families within the scope of the program |
Develop Individualized Family Plans with the parent or caregiver |
Make appropriate referrals and linkages for the long-term care of the child |
Track family progress with pre and post-test assessment tools |
Attend outreach events as required to assist in public education and outreach activities |
Ensure the accurate completion of documentation and data collection |
Attend supervision and training sessions conducted by regional Mental Health |
Attend all other required meetings |
Other duties as assigned |
Qualifications
JOB QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Work Experience
- At least two years of social services or parent education experience;
Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences, psychology, social work, or related field from
an accredited university;
Knowledge/Skills
- Reliable vehicle for transportation;
- Demonstrated cultural competence for the populations being served; and
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
