Description
Assist Director of Community Outreach with all aspects of Warehouse operations, ensuring efficient processes and operations while maximizing warehouse productivity.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate and assist the Director in managing daily warehouse operations.
- Work with the Director to expand weekend meal provision at new sites while adhering to budget constraints.
- Undergo training on ordering shelf-stable meals from Champion Food Service.
- Supervise strategic ordering from Crown Packaging to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Report problems/needs day-to-day including any staff no-shows, delivery/pick-up issues, etc.
- Familiarize with meal packaging procedures and assist when required, especially during staff shortages or production delays.
- Support Head Start programs by facilitating delivery and communication with various groups.
- Manage the receipt and dispatch of meals and supplies from the warehouse.
- Assist in meal site operations, including meal delivery and distribution.
- Operate pallet jacks and stackers while efficiently organizing meals and boxes for pickups and deliveries.
- Drive vans and deliver shelf-stable meals to designated sites as needed.
- Learn and utilize Route Maker Software for efficient delivery routing.
- Coordinate summer community outreach efforts to ensure continuous meal distribution.
- Assist in scheduling corporate volunteers, ensuring adequate resources for packing.
- Create an inviting space for community volunteers to participate in packing at the warehouse.
- Explore innovative solutions to enhance service quality for meal-receiving sites.
- Take responsibility for inventory management and ordering of supplies such as boxes and tape.
- Maintain overall warehouse oversight, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and stock rotation.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and local regulations through staff training and orientation.
- Collaborate with the Director to optimize warehouse space utilization.
- Train and manage Foor Service Associates to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short and long-term goals.
- Participate in staff performance reviews and assist in setting staff goals.
- Undertake other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree (or equivalent) in Management, Business, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
- 2-3 years’ experience in warehousing or a similar supervisory role, coupled with safety training.
- Proficiency in computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office products.
- Possession of a valid State of Ohio Driver's License.
- Understanding of OSHA regulations and warehouse safety requirements.
- A positive, professional, dynamic, and resilient attitude.
Job Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Work within a warehouse environment.
- Involves a considerable amount of standing, walking, lifting, reaching, packing, and loading/unloading boxes, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency in operating pallet jacks and stackers.
