Retail Supervisor

Chiles Peach Orchard is a family-owned and operated local business. We're gearing up for our season and looking to expand our team!

JOB OVERVIEW: Support the manager and employees in the day-to-day operations of our busy family-oriented seasonal agritourism venue & retail market. Manage the employees fairly, handle guest service issues, ensure all displays are enticing, oversee the receiving and storing of deliveries, handle cash and credit sales, refunds, and oversee the opening and closing of grounds. You are responsible for the safety and security of our customers, staff, property and merchandise.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Daily Site Operations

· Perform and delegate opening and closing duties

· Staff mentoring, training, follow up, and task assignment

· Work with General Manager to organize, plan and implement new strategies

· Ensure superior guest experience in person & over phone / email

o Recognize any issues with customers or staff and formulate a solution that works for both sides

· Manage inventory, equipment, fruit, merchandising & displays

· Prompt problem solving and decision-making skills

· Oversee facility cleanliness (must be spotless and sparkling!), safety, organization and maintenance

· Handle cash discreetly and accurately

· Enforce company policies

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· 2 years in a supervisory or management role in a retail or hospitality environment

· HS or equivalent degree

· Comfortable with technology and able to use a computer-based POS system

· Accurately count cash and make change

· Professional demeanor and excellent service-oriented communication skills

• Must love working with people!

· Problem-solving skills

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· 2 years retail and/or hospitality management experience

· Microsoft office software experience

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

· Location based job at Chiles Peach Orchard, Crozet VA in open air market

· Indoor and outdoor work in all weather conditions

· Tobacco and drug-free workplace (including all grounds)

· Weekend hours are required. This position is full time April-November and part time in March and December. We are closed in January and February.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

· Work in busy spaces occupied by several employees and many customers.

· Have the physical ability to bend, lift, pull, push (up to 50 pounds), stand on your feet for several hours at a time, and move with purpose from one point to another throughout the day.

MENTAL DEMANDS:

· Ability to mentally perform all tasks at hand with precision, and minimal error.

· Critical thinking and prioritizing essential tasks are necessary and are not limited by stress factors, large crowds, and deadlines.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
