Job Summary
The Diet Aide provides the clerical support needed to ensure that patients receive diets as ordered and that patient preferences and allergies are honored and compliant. The Diet Aide proactively supports the efforts that will ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promotes a safe environment at CHOC.- Required: Minimum one year of food service experience in healthcare.
- Preferred: Two years of previous food service work experience in healthcare preferably with therapeutic diets.
- Required: High School Diploma GED or equivalent.
- Preferred: Associate degree.
- Required: Knowledge of therapeutic diets. General kitchen knowledge in food safety, sanitation and production. Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English. Follow oral/written instructions. Ability to organize time; promote teamwork to achieve CHOC's mission; understand and exceed customer expectations. Simple math skills. Willingness to be crossed-trained within the Food Service Department.
- Preferred: Bilingual; computer and telephone skills.
