Job Purpose or Objective(s): Provide services to elder/vulnerable adult crime victims, referred from Choctaw Nation programs and Community Agencies, and their families in the Choctaw Nation Elder/Vulnerable Adult Advocacy Program. You will report to the Program Director.
Primary Tasks:
1. You will develop an awareness of elder/vulnerable adult victims of crime and by ensuring equitable access to services and resources necessary to prevent or end abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
2. Work referrals from Choctaw Nation Program and Community Agencies.
3. Share information materials about the Program to Choctaw Nation Programs and Community Agencies.
4. Provide Advocacy to elder/vulnerable adult victims of crime within the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma including courtroom advocacy.
5. You will prepare and help develop training materials to be used for community workshops.
6. Support the mandatory Volunteer Program by Recruitment of Volunteers.
7. You will prepare and submit monthly reports.
8. Perform other tasks as may be assigned.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s social services or related field
· Must attend Oklahoma Victims Assistance Academy
· Awareness of victims of crime and the services needed for these victims
· Obtain, mediate and be positive at a professional level
· Demonstrate a high level of cultural competence, sensitivity, and responsiveness
· Knowledge of case planning, case management,
· Good written and verbal correspondence skills
· Good organizational and time-management skills
· Experience providing testimony in courts
· Good computer skills
· Two years’ experience in social work-related field
