Job Purpose or Objective
The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the appearance of the grounds of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma properties.
This is a position that maintains the grounds of health facilities and is subject to the supreme court mandate for COVID-19 vaccines. The Choctaw Nation also provides a religious and/or medical exemption.
Primary Tasks
Operates various types of lawn equipment such as: lawnmowers, trimmers, hedge trimmers, edgers, blowers, etc.
Pick up trash and other routine tasks to maintain the grounds.
Caring for established lawns and landscaping by mowing, trimming, edging, mulching, weeding, and planting.
Uses hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, and hedge trimmers.
Tree, hedge, and shrub care that includes using shears, pruners, or chain saws.
Occasional manual removal of snow and ice from walkways, drives, etc.
Keeping work areas clear of clutter and debris.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or GED.
Energetic individual with the ability to learn various technical and mechanical requirements of the job.
Read and follow written or oral directions for tasks.
Understand government public health regulations, as needed.
Understand and follow safety standards related to performance of the job.
Capable of stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching, daily, and carrying up to 50 lbs.
Target Requirements
High school diploma or GED.
Valid State Issued Driver's License
Proficient in the operation and use of various lawn equipment such as; lawnmowers, weed eaters, hedgers, etc.
Energetic individual with the ability to learn various technical and mechanical requirements of the job.
Read and follow written or oral directions for tasks.
Understand government public health regulations.
Understand and follow safety standards related to performance of the job.
Capable of stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching, daily, and carrying up to 50 lbs.
Prior commercial grounds keeping experience to include knowledge of pruning, planting, watering, and general upkeep of facility grounds.
