Since 1981 CHRIS 180 has been dedicated to healing and recovery for children, youth, adults and families and is a growing $33 million organization with over 385 employees. CHRIS 180 services include: counseling for the community at large; school based mental health counseling; homes for abused, neglected foster children with emotional and behavioral problems who are in state custody; supportive housing for single and parenting young people, ages 17 – 24 who are homeless or aging out of foster care; in-home services and community programs that strengthen families; outreach, drop-in and community housing for older teens, young adults and young adult families; a community center; an adoption program for children in foster care; and, training for professionals, human service workers, educators, volunteers, individuals who work within the community, other organizations and children, youth and families.  The goal for all services is to unlock the potential that resides in each person to help them become self-sufficient, contributing adults who have the skills to navigate life’s challenges.

Position Summary

The Grant Manager will work closely with the CCO, Substance Abuse Services Program Director, and Substance Abuse Program Managers to complete all aspects of grant applications and reporting, including research, planning, writing, submission, and stewardship. The Grants Manager will work closely with the various departments involved with a client chart to adhere to grant fidelity.

Role and Responsibilities

The primary duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintain calendar of prospects and targets for application
  • Writing/editing grant proposals
  • Track all aspects of grant process in grant database ERa Commons and SPARS
  • grant stewardship, including the organization and completion of all grant reporting requirements
  • Meet grant timelines including grant data regarding enrollments, budgets, expenditures, and analysis.
  • Submit all grants deliverables per grant timelines and contract expectations
  • Attend monthly meetings with Grant Program Officer and Grant Management Officer, and other required SAMHSA meetings.
  • Any assigned grants tasks as designated by Program Director of Substance Abuse Services, CCO, and CEO.
  • The Grants Manager will work closely with the various departments involved with a client chart (UM, Billing, Supervisors, Clinical Director, Compliance) to maintain operational compliance with governmental/state regulations, payor policies, and DBHDD guidelines and requirements
  • Meet consistently with Accounting staff to ensure billing and accounts are current and accurate.
  • Meet with internal and external auditors as necessary
  • Oversee all procedures & requirements pertaining to required documentation related to grant outputs.
  • Assist in onboarding new staff and provide on the Job training (OJT) for new staff (30-45 days), training them on grant reporting data collection such as GPRA follow-up interviews and grant evaluation outputs.
  • Assign and oversee completion of Evidenced Based Practices training associated with grant expectations.
  • Collect and report data to grant evaluators quarterly on grant outputs.
  • In coordination with the Program Director and Program Managers facilitate meetings with staff to provide feedback on grant metrics and implement corrective action plans to increase metrics.
  • Work with UM and Substance Abuse Services leadership to plan for, prepare and participate in any SAMHSA related audits.
  • Attend any related trainings regarding changes with clinical/admin policies and procedures.
  • The Grant Manager will attend regular team meetings and represent the department at other organizational meetings
  • The Grant Manager is expected to familiarize him/herself with all aspects of CHRIS 180 programming, and to develop strong professional relationships with Program Managers to understand the underlying needs of the organization
  • The Grant Manager will support the Program Director of Substance Abuse Services or other executives for special projects as needed
  • Maintain detailed files in accordance with SAMHSA grant compliance standards
  • Attend and participate in all meetings and supervision as required and in accordance with CHRIS 180 policy and procedures.
  • Adhere to CHRIS 180 Code of Conduct, Code of Ethics, and GA Code
  • Maintain consumers’ confidentiality
  • Support and maintain an environment of emotional and physical safety for consumers, staff and other stakeholders at all times
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service
  • Maintain certifications/trainings and provide information to HR and Training in a timely manner

Qualifications/Competencies

  • Experience in project management and grant oversight using a variety of data collection and various reporting systems.
  • A Master’s degree in social services, and /or behavioral health preferred, or bachelor's degree with 5 years experience in community-based mental health systems.
  • Preference is given to individuals with additional certifications in substance use disorder treatment. (e.g., CACII, MAC, CPS, CARES)
  • Experience with SAMHSA grants and SAMHSA grant reporting preferred
  • Ability to effectively relate to clients, parents/custodians of all social, economic, ethnic and educational backgrounds, with firmness, fairness and concern,
  • Solid decision-making ability as related to the safety and well-being of clients, families, community and staff.
  • Be guided by precedent and established policy and procedure in decision-making. This person will be required to analyze and react to difficult situations, often while under considerable stress and pressure.
  • Dependability, emotional stability and physically capable. This position requires some physical functions that are essential to satisfactory performance of the outlined job responsibilities, i.e. sitting, standing, walking, driving, speaking, hearing and the ability to physically restrain (when necessary).
  • Ability to recognize when assistance and consultation is needed.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Must be able to work independently and within a team setting
  • Highly skilled in MS Office and office management software.

Schedule

Typically works Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:30am - 5:00pm. Schedules are flexible based on need and site assignment. Evening and Weekend hours maybe required to attend marketing and community events. Schedules may vary based on site assignment/operating hours. Flexibility is a requirement and schedules are apt to change (with notice) based on clinic needs, grants, projects, or site assignments.
