Job Summary

The Automotive Body Shop Manager at Chris Auffenberg Ford (Washington MO) is an important position that oversees the body shop department of the dealership.

They will be responsible for monitoring and managing repair work which is done on new and used vehicles, and managing the facility's personnel.

The Automotive Body Shop Manager is expected to provide excellent customer service in a timely, organized manner.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the body shop is staffed properly, meets all compliance standards, and meets performance metrics.
  • Manage body shop personnel including hiring, developing, monitoring, and performance appraisals
  • Oversee facility maintenance and vehicle repair
  • Troubleshoot any customer issues and facilitate effective customer relationships
  • Ensure all work is done according to OEM specifications and safety standards
  • Supervise the ordering and purchasing of parts and materials
  • Maintain records and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Engage in continuous process improvement and cost-cutting activities
  • Ensure industry regulations and standards (OSHA, ASE, Federal, State, etc.) are adhered to.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Automotive body / paint certificate or equivalent education is preferred
  • 3 years of body shop management / supervisory experience
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of automotive body shop management practices
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and OSHA regulations
  • Ability to multitask and handle a fast-paced working environment
