The Christian Center of Park City ("CCPC") is a Christian, humanitarian community resource center that helps improve the lives of people and communities through meeting immediate and basic needs, serving as a leading networker of community resources, offering counseling and care support, and giving hope to those we serve.
Focusing primarily on the population centers of Summit and Wasatch counties, CCPC serves all people, regardless of race, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, ethnicity or gender. We require no membership, dues, or compliance with our faith traditions to be served by our programs and resources.
We are a 501c(3), nonprofit organization that partners with other nonprofits, government agencies, businesses, churches, interfaith councils and individuals in order to meet the needs of our community.
Primary Job Function:
The Programs Assistant at the Christian Center of Park City will provide assistance to the Director of Programs through developing, planning and implementing programs specific to the community needs. Additionally, this role is responsible for the oversight of CCPC’s volunteer program, including recruitment, placement and retainment of volunteers at both our Park City and Heber Valley campuses.
Job Responsibilities:
Programs
- Assists in the planning and implementation of all programs and special events alongside the Director of Programs.
- Actively participates in local outreach events and activities to further the mission and vision of CCPC.
- Participates in staff and committee meetings as designated by the Director of Programs.
- Provide administrative support for special events and CCPC programs as needed.
- Events: event preparation and execution accounts for 60-70% of this role.
Volunteers
- Recruit new volunteers, responding to fluctuating needs of CCPC operations and events.
- Provide initial scheduling and introductory orientation via email, web-based tools, and online training materials for new volunteers. Provide ongoing volunteer communication, keeping volunteers fully trained, informed, and equipped to serve effectively.
- Represent CCPC to Park City and Heber Valley communities, leveraging relationships with partnering organizations to recruit volunteers and volunteer teams.
- Develop and implement volunteer retention plan including volunteer appreciation events, informational meetings, recognition, etc.
- Event-specific volunteer management: creating volunteer positions and online sign ups, training plans, on-site hospitality, pre- and post-event communications.
- Manage volunteer database, providing a monthly volunteer report to database manager and Director of Programs, and other parties as requested.
- Handle all administrative volunteer tasks.
Qualifications:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills, ability to plan ahead and manage multiple tasks with confidence.
- Communicate with honesty, integrity, and sensitivity to the needs and differences of diverse cultures.
- Competent in Microsoft Office Applications.
- Strong relational, interpersonal and presentation skills. Comfortable speaking in front of large audiences.
- Ability to work independently, in a multi-task environment and maintain positive attitude in the midst of change.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs. and drive company vehicles.
