The Role:
Reporting to the Director of Environment & Sustainability for Electric Thermal Solutions (ETS), the Sustainability Analyst will work closely with the entire ETS business, which includes Chromalox, Thermocoax, Vulcanic & Durex, and the ETS Sustainability team, to ensure the accuracy and integrity of all sustainability data and communications to meet our ambitious sustainability commitments.
The Sustainability Analyst will be the Global technical lead on all sustainability-related data and reporting processes to help support the business in tracking and reporting key performance indicators related to our One Planet Sustainability Strategy.
You will drive improved data integrity and quality of the sustainability data submissions (i.e., waste, water, electric, gas, business travel, and other Scope 3 emissions) of all ETS entities to identify and correct any errors or omissions to ensure the integrity and accuracy of data before Group reporting.
This position is located in Pittsburgh, PA, or in the EST time zone.
Responsibilities:
- Develop reporting procedures and train as needed (at all levels).
- Support the Director of Sustainability for ETS in implementing the annual sustainability and planning process.
- Support reporting out of performance through a robust and ever-evolving sustainability scorecard.
- Coordinate the completion of business level Sustainability questionnaires and other customer sustainability requirements and information requests, e.g., EcoVadis.
- Analyze the location's Net Zero Roadmaps and Waste & Water Action Plans to ensure they will deliver significant reductions in line with One Planet targets.
- Liaising with all Operating Companies to ensure we gather all sustainability data, including volunteering and biodiversity data, for reporting. Verifying data where there are errors or omissions. And compiling the quarterly ETS report for the Group.
- Creating a library of best practice case studies to enhance the Sustainability Toolbox library, helping Operating Companies improve their performance.
- Working closely with Operating Companies to build sustainability into business cases as projects are developed to meet One Planet targets.
- Maintain the ETS Sustainability Communications Plan; prepare the Sustainability communications for internal distribution to increase sustainability knowledge and awareness among our colleagues.
- Engage with the broader Sustainability community through various internal communication channels, including Teams groups and One Place (internal social media).
- At least, 3 years of experience in the Sustainability or Environmental sector, or a strong interest in a career in this field and strong transferable skills.
- Experience with accurately recording, interpreting, auditing, and presenting sustainability data.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other reporting tools.
- Experience with Power BI experience is preferred, not required.
- A problem solver who is willing to dive into detail to identify trends and root causes to identify potential focus areas and solutions.
- Be able to identify opportunities and risks in sustainability performance.
- A good communicator and adept at presenting information to stakeholders at all levels.
- Collaborative approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and demanding environment.
