You will be doing abstraction and reporting of cancer data to the state. Responsibilities within Mercy’s accredited Commission on Cancer and NAPBC Programs. These include but are not limited to: Pathology compliance reviews, data quality reviews, Survivorship Care Plans, Tumor Board tracking, medical record compliance reviews, participation in quality studies, case finding and accreditation visit preparation.
Job Details
Experience/skills:
- Preferred 1-3 years’ experience in Cancer Registry.
- Computer literate. Well oriented to detail, legible penmanship and possess a good memory.
- Should be self-motivated, display supervisory ability, integrity and pride in achievement.
- Must be able to act in a courteous, respectable manner when interacting with people. Good oral and written skills.
Education:
- Must be ODS or ODS eligible, R.H.I.A. or R.H.I.T. preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of medical terminology (especially as it relates to neoplasm), physiology, anatomy (gross and microscopic), histology, hematology, diagnostic procedures, extent of disease nomenclature, medical record coding and tumor registry coding systems (especially as this relates to neoplasm).
Salary Range
USD $36.24 - USD $36.24 /Hr.
