The incumbent uses various tools, testing instruments and equipment to install, inspect, repair, maintain, adjust and troubleshoot various pieces of electrical equipment and components. Responsible for the care of the equipment and tools necessary to perform such work. Keeps Lead and Supervisor appraised of unique situations and problems encountered.

This position works mostly in a clinical environment and has a competitive wage of $49.71 per hr. Benefits include: $4.95 per hour for Health and Welfare, $6.80 per hour 401(k) contribution (both capped at 40 hours per week), 11 paid holidays, and PTO starting a 10 hours per month. There is a contract year clothing allowance for protective clothing and/or ANSI compliant safety shoes.

Work Model: Onsite

• Performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.
• Installs or repairs any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other distribution equipment.
• Works from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.
• Locates and diagnoses trouble in the electrical system or equipment.
• Works standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
• Uses a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.
• Work of the maintenance electrician requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
• Troubleshoots and evaluates electrical systems.
• Inspects work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, policies, and regulations.
• In a scheduled rotation be available on-call within one hour after the Government's request to respond to emergency situations during or after hours, holidays and weekends for the purpose of resolving immediate concerns. Must be able to work overtime as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED).
• Journeyman Licensed Electrician (with valid and current Washington State EL01 Electrical Journeyman's Certification).
• Verifiable work experience of at least three years in an Operations & Maintenance services environment.
• Valid Washington State driver's license without a major violation or three or more incidents in the past 36 months.
• Communicate, both orally and in writing, in the English language.
• A commitment to be on-call 24 hours/7 days on a rotational basis with a 1-hour response time requirement.
• Must obtain and maintain a DOD clearance and pass any drug test as applicable to the position.
• U.S. Citizenship.
