Overview
Under the direction of the Communications Director, the Communications Manager plans, develops, and implements a robust internal communications function and programs designed to inspire, engage, and inform Team Members. Creates strategic and high-impact communications strategies, initiatives, guidelines, standards, and policies, and launches key programs to enhance the company’s reputation among its internal stakeholders.
This role and its function are part of the Communications shared services model. A Team Member in a shared service structure, works within a dedicated business unit (including people, processes, and technologies) that is structured as a centralized point of service and is focused on defined business functions. These units typically serve multiple business groups enterprise wide, and typically have established Service Level Agreements.
Responsibilities
Responsible for administering and disseminating corporate information and messages, working alongside a team within the Communications Division that drafts corporate communications, reviews, and edits messages to ensure they are clear, thorough, on-brand, and seek to preserve the company’s image.
Develops strategies and owns day-to-day execution for global communication programs targeting internal stakeholders.
Develops and implements communication campaigns, strategies, guidelines, and organizational communication standards and monitor their success.
Defines key performance indicators for each communication channel to indicate a campaign's level of success.
Determines strategic communications campaigns that will help further organizational goals.
Responsible for collecting data on the performance of specific communication campaigns and evaluates them for their success or identifies areas or opportunities for improvement.
Creates internal communications protocols and initiatives that will foster employee morale.
Develops cohesive partnership with Marketing to ensure that all external messages and communications are consistent with the organization's brand, including website copy, social media outreach, and more.
Writes and delivers internal communications on a weekly basis.
Represents the organization at events and press conferences.
Protects and enhances the reputation of the organization and its practices to all key audiences.
Interfaces and consults regularly with cross-functional teams across the company.
Builds a work environment that promotes teamwork, partnership, recognition, mutual respect, collaboration, performance feedback/management, and Team Member satisfaction while role modeling the company values, behaviors, and culture of One.Team.Chumash
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Business or Marketing is required
Five years of experience in one, or a combination of, the following fields: public relations, communications, or marketing.
Experience writing copy, writing for deadlines, and writing creatively.
Proven ability to develop and implement new programs and initiatives.
Intermediate computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, email, and internet.
Speaking and writing in Spanish a plus.
Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
Native American hiring preference applies.
