What you’ll be doing:
Supports day to day benefits administration processes for group benefit programs and policies which include, but are not limited to medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, flexible spending plans, health savings plans, wellness plans and retirement. Serves as an employee advocate and resource to provide insights and guidance regarding benefit programs and questions. Completes benefit related HR database entry and runs benefits reports.
On any given day, you’ll:
- Performs a variety of activities to support benefits administration, programs and events. This will include support for our numerous benefit plans as well as service anniversary gift program, wellness events, scholarship program, volunteer page on Sharepoint, fitness reimbursement, tuition reimbursement etc.
- Responds to benefits email inbox questions, serving as initial point of contact and triage for employee benefits questions. Escalates nonroutine issues to appropriate benefits administrator.
- Provides direction to new hires on completion of benefits enrollment and acts as a resource for follow-up questions relating to benefits policies and procedures.
- Supports the entry of data, information storage, and benefit-related change information in the HR system. Updates systems records for new hire benefits and open enrollment changes and coordinates, communicates, and processes all employee benefit changes (e.g., dependent status changes, beneficiary updates, and other qualifying events).
- Processes and reconciles all benefit billings. Ensures processing of invoices and for payment.
- Provides basic ADP Reporting and assistance on other benefit related reports. Partners with benefits staff to address data requests and questions related to software, programs, or reports.
- Maintains accurate record retention of benefits documents for compliance and timely purging of files.
- Assists with open enrollment administrative tasks.
Here’s what we expect
**This is a hybrid position that requires 2 days per week in our Merrill, WI office**
Prior Experience:
- Two years of Human Resources experience with an emphasis on benefits administration and related laws and regulations preferred.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience working with automated systems, preferably HR Information Systems.
- Experience with coordinating activities and managing projects strongly preferred.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required. Post-secondary education is preferred.
Necessary Knowledge and Abilities:
- Ability to recognize and work with changing priorities and make decisions appropriate for the level of responsibility.
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work and handle multiple assignments to meet deadlines or requirements.
- Ability to learn federal, state, and local laws related to labor law posting requirements.
- Maintain high level of confidentiality.
- Must be a self-starter, able to take direction, and work independently.
- Ability to work additional hours as needed and based on workload.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Possess a cooperative attitude.
- Good interpersonal and team skills.
