Growing automotive manufacturing company searching for an experienced IT Support Specialist.
SUMMARY
Provide technical and administrative support for LAN, using Windows/Linux operating systems and a variety of application software. Installs, modifies, and repairs personal computer hardware and software systems, and provide technical advice and support to system users. Identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. Maintain adequate knowledge of existing hardware and software in use to maximize efficiency of network and users' utilization of them. Document any infrastructure/networking changes to assist future support efforts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following but other duties may be assigned.
- Assist in providing computer/network support relating to software and hardware problems reported by users.
- Maintain an adequate level of knowledge of operating system and application software being used to provide high levels of support to users.
- Monitor and evaluate efficiency of software/hardware usage, providing items to be covered in training of users, making them more efficient.
- Install new software applications or hardware on the LAN, coordinating assistance from third parties when necessary.
- Add and maintain users on the network; assigning application access, ensuring security, and maintaining their configurations are within standards.
- Assist in installation of workstations and printers on the LAN.
- Utilize technology to provide staff with a fast accurate, and secure method of gaining access to information so they can service the member in the fastest and most efficient manner possible.
- Monitor load balance on servers and make recommendations accordingly.
- Assist with mitigation efforts to minimize potential impact of external security threats (such as ransomware attacks).
- Carry out other such duties as may be assigned or requested.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate degree related to computer networking required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. 1 years’ experience working in IT support position required, 2-3 years' experience preferred. Experience working in Windows client/server environment preferred.
