Sales Development Representative Position Overview:

CIENCE is looking for Outbound Call Agents (Sales Development Representative (SDR) - that's how we call), to execute compelling and targeted campaigns that focus on the value clients can provide to prospects. As Sales Development Representatives, this position requires a thoughtful, multi-channel approach (calls, email, chat, and correspondence) with a strong emphasis on the phone that puts problem-solving at the center of each conversation. We’ll give you the tools and training you need to be successful, but your hard work and ingenuity will bring this role to life.

The Sales Development Representative’s focus will be to generate as many qualified appointments as possible by engaging prospects via phone (outbound calling) and creating positive relationships on behalf of our clients. You are not a salesperson but rather a conduit between our clients and potential leads.

Sales Development Representative Primary Responsibilities:

  • Call potential prospects and create an interest in our services.
  • Understand prospect's needs, determines the appropriate course of action to meet those needs, and completes or initiates the transaction.
  • Be polite on the phone and be able to handle objections. Be able to meet prospect's needs.
  • Combine the knowledge of the product, good work ethic, effective time management skills, and human relations skills to meet performance standards and positively influence the client's image.
  • Follow-up with potential clients.

Qualifications:

  • Six months of prospecting/cold calling experience
  • Sales development experience is a plus
  • High school diploma or GED, College education
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Excel)
  • Must have experience working with Client Relationship Management (CRM) tools such as Salesforce, Hubspot or Salesloft.
  • Excellent telephone tact and diplomacy
  • Proficiency in keyboarding/data entry
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with supervisors, peers, and customers
  • Time management skills (dependable, accurate, and detail-oriented)
  • Ability to process information quickly and accurately
  • Ability to create positive customer relationships
