What are the responsibilities and job description for the Disruption Analyst position at Cigna?
This role supports Cigna's ability to sell and retain Cigna medical business by processing disruption analysis requests. The candidate will be responsible to work with various software programs and provider data to generate disruption reports with high focus on review of results for accuracy. This role requires utilizing overall knowledge, strong analytical ability and independent decision making to produce optimal results and reporting integrity in order to enhance consultative relationship with matrix partners to drive growth and retention. The candidate will identify data quality issues, resolves issues that prevent completion of assigned work and ensure communications are accurate and channeled appropriately. This role requires strong Excel knowledge, analytical skills and ability to adapt the fundamentals and processing guidelines learned to the various types of data received so that the highest level of accuracy can be provided. Responsibilities include knowledge of multiple product requirements, multiple tools and process functions and the flexibility to learn and manage various processes and functions on a daily basis.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Developing a thorough understanding of all disruption analysis reporting functions including general Cigna product and network knowledge
- Review of provider data to determine best approach on processing the information to yield the best possible results. Analyzing submitted requests and associated data file/files to ensure necessary data is available for processing.
- Formatting of data files and preparation for processing according to established guidelines. Utilizing tools to prepare the data, mapping and coding data elements to create input files to run through Oracle system for match output based on request specifications.
- Quality review of system match results for accuracy and reasonableness.
- Creation of disruption result reports in accordance with the best practice guidelines and distribution of results in a timely and efficient manner.
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with Sales matrix partners and other downstream areas as needed in regards to submitted requests. Proactively working with Sales on a consultative basis in regards to educating and understanding the disruption analysis reporting methodology and match results.
- Complying with all business operating and tracking controls and quality assurance processes.
- Personal accountability and independent management of all deliverables and service level agreements to assigned areas of support.
Qualifications and Competencies
- High School Diploma, bachelor degree strongly preferred
- Self-motivated, having the ability to operate independently in a highly matrix environment

- Previous experience in the area of provider billing/contracting is beneficial
- This role is Flex/WFH which allows most work to be performed at home or on occasion at a Cigna office location. Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite.
This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
