What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Liaison position at CIM Group, LP?
POSITION PURPOSE:
Provide support and assistance with day-to-day project management duties, including communicating with residents and relevant stakeholders to ensure all parties understand the project plan.
The Construction Liaison will coordinate the schedule, communications, and success matrix for the project and communicate daily with residents, and various internal departments in the organization are aligned.
\n- Support the project team on capital improvement projects (i.e., lobby renovations, window replacement, amenity work, elevator modernizations, etc.).
- Coordinate with on-site property management teams to ensure staff is aware of ongoing work schedules.
- Review and track contractor schedules and develop look-ahead schedules to be provided to on-site management team and residents.
- Compose notices and manage resident interaction (in consultation with the Property Management team) to coordinate in-unit and common area work and notify residents of building service interruptions associated with construction.
- Communicate directly (face to face) with residents to ensure information is flowing efficiently and that work is able to proceed without interruption.
- Coordinate with contractors and consultants to ensure work that impacts residents is handled appropriately to minimize impacts to building occupants.
- Generate the required reports prior to the replacements and upon completion of each phase of the project.
- Execute a variety of project management administrative tasks as assigned by the Project Manager and/or Senior Management.
- Communication Skill Requirements:

- Ability to effectively present information to residents, vendors, contractors, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret lease agreements, financial reports, and/or legal documents.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from residents, regulatory agencies, other areas of the company, and/or business community members.
- Mathematical Skill Requirements:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Reasoning Skill Requirements:
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions.
- Ability to solve practical problems.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 1-2 years experience in the development or real estate industry preferred.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Yardi is also a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint required.
- Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced work environment.
- Must be a team player and detail-oriented.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Organizational Skills: Must be organized, effective, and efficient in time management, delegation, planning, goal setting, and decision-making, among others.
- Communication Skills: Construction Liaison will interact with many individuals throughout the life cycle of a project, such as Project Managers, Directors, Property Managers, Senior Management, and Project Sponsors; thus, they must demonstrate excellent communication skills.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Must have problem-solving skills that allow them to quickly come up with solutions and strategies.
