What you’ll be responsible for:
We are looking for a senior leader to own and drive the company’s data strategy to support product and business need. This role will oversee the design and development of various data platform and products to support the global data strategy of Circle. As the overall leader of the Circle’s Data team, you will manage directors, managers and teams that build and own next generation data infrastructure and platform, as well as a team of data scientists and analysts who are responsible for producing insight and recommendations for product and business functions.
What you'll work on:
- Own the Data platform Strategy and associated product roadmap, including stakeholder coordination, business requirements development and prioritization assessment.
- Hire and grow a global team of data engineers, data scientists and data analysts.
- Lead the evolution of our existing data tools and systems, making incremental improvements along the way while developing the solutions to reimagine those systems.
- Build deep relationships and create strategic alliances to establish trust with key stakeholders across legal, risk, compliance, engineering, product etc. to accelerate delivery data team roadmap.
- Present Data insight and recommendations at the highest levels across the organization and be capable of advocating for and/or defending decisions based on the data.
- Establish and maintain transparent processes to gather, assess and prioritize functional needs from all data stakeholders.
What you'll bring to Circle
- 10 years of experience with technical leadership and people management ( >= 50 direct/indirect reports)
- 15 years of experience with data science, analyst, and data engineering
- You have experience in designing, building and deploying secure, scalable data products & services
- Highly quantitative and business minded with a deep understanding of multidimensionality of data
- You have a track record of managing managers and multiple technical teams
- You love the idea of coaching and building leaders (both within your team and at the senior engineering leadership level)
- You have a passion for enabling and motivating people to do their best work
- You work very well cross-functionally, and are able to think rigorously and make hard decisions and tradeoffs
- You have experience managing remote teams
- The ability to thrive on a fast pace environment with high level of autonomy and responsibilities
