POSITION DETAILS – Director of Aftermarket
Position Summary
The Director of Aftermarket will spearhead the creation, implementation, and management of strategic aftermarket programs for the North America Pumps division. This role requires innovative thinking to develop growth and pricing strategies based upon aftermarket capture of the existing install base. This leader will use entitlement calculations to determine aftermarket capture targets based upon product life cycles and will develop and implement sales strategies to achieve targets. In addition, the Director will establish differentiated pricing for aftermarket based upon value added selling. The Director will be accountable for the strategic planning, deployment, coordination, and execution of resources to ensure successful delivery within scope, time, and profit parameters.
Principal Activities
- Lead the development and implementation of aftermarket growth strategies and solutions, focusing on analytics, market opportunities, and customer needs.
- Build out a focused Aftermarket organization to achieve growth and pricing objectives including business analytics, inside sales, service solutions and expedited support.
- Oversee the design and manage the creation of analytical tools and dashboards, particularly utilizing Power BI, to map out installed bases and identify growth areas.
- Develop and implement a robust pricing strategy that reflects market dynamics and customer dependencies.
- Oversee inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and turnover rates, focusing on high-cost and high-use parts.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely execution of growth initiatives, tracking key performance metrics such as bookings, sales, gross margin, and on-time delivery.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop strategic marketing programs and territory-specific plans to enhance aftermarket penetration and performance.
- Drive the aftermarket sales team to forecast, meet, and exceed sales targets.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as needed to support the aftermarket business unit.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

- Proven experience developing and leading aftermarket programs, with a strong background in strategic planning and execution.
- Exceptional project and time management skills, including multitasking, prioritizing, and managing multiple concurrent projects.
- Advanced analytical skills, with a capability for strategic thinking and problem-solving.
- Effective communication and team collaboration skills.
- Expertise in resource projection, monitoring, and management.
- In-depth knowledge of industry-specific standards and customer requirements throughout the product lifecycle in industrial applications.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and Power BI.
- Ability to influence across functional areas without direct authority, leveraging product knowledge and business acumen.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Sales and Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA is preferred.
- 8-10 years of progressive experience in leading aftermarket programs within the industrial or related sectors.
