The primary responsibilities are:
- Delegate and schedule work appropriately throughout the department.
- Develop, train, and coach employees on tasks such as selling, customer relations, policies, procedures, etc.
- Monitor data, numbers, customer pricing, and quotas within the department.
- Prospect and identify potential customers.
- Build and maintain business relationships with vendors and customers.
- Prepare, organize, and conduct annual physical inventory.
- Develop, implement, and maintain proper processes in conjunction with the Company and manufactures.
- Ensure department work is performed with efficiency, accuracy, high quality, and following all dealership standards.
- Assess present and future needs, trends, problems and profit opportunities.
- Review and appraise the results of activities within the department and take appropriate action as necessary.
- Maintain appropriate communication within and between all departments within the company.
- Promote safe work habits and ensure that safety rules are followed.
- Develop employees and identify career advancement opportunities.
- Advise direct reports on techniques and approaches through coaching, troubleshooting, or teaching practices.
- Take corrective action when necessary by issuing credits, speaking with customers, and working with other departments to ensure alternative methods are available for the customers.
- Maintain expenses, assets, and materials and take action as necessary.
- Manage time effectively and efficiently.
- Appraise employee performance through coachings, reviews, and evaluations as appropriate.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to interview, screen, and hire employees.
The requirements for this position are:
- Must be 18 years old
- 3 years of related experience preferred
- Prior management experience preferred
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 25 pounds
