Citigroup Internal Audit provides independent assessments of the company's governance, risk management and internal control environment for key stakeholders including the Board of Directors, senior management, and Citi’s numerous regulators globally. IA is a change agent within Citi aimed to enhance the control culture of Citigroup worldwide and thereby support senior management decision making around the globe.
Job Description Summary
A key aspect of the IA Data and Operations group’s responsibilities is to provide the IA organization with strategic direction, oversight, and coordination of Data Governance activities firmwide. Reporting to IA’s Data Governance Manager, the Data Governance Senior Analyst will collaborate with team members, IA Learning & Development (L&D), IA Communications, and the Enterprise Chief Data Office (ECDO) to support the execution of IA’s Data Transformation Program including process documentation, metrics development, reporting, communications, and education campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
- Support stakeholders in their adoption of Data Governance concepts and procedures
- Create reporting and metrics related to different aspects of IA’s Data Governance plan execution
- Conduct analysis of current versus future state gaps, identifying root causes, determining the appropriate solution and how success should be measured
- Partner with IA Data and Operations team members to lead system and process changes from requirements through implementation, as needed
- Provide ad-hoc assistance to IA Data and Operations team members
- Partner with ECDO, IA Federated Chief Data Office (FCDO) and IA’s L&D team to identify opportunities for data governance education
- Help identify, develop, and deliver Data Governance related training plan for IA in partnership with relevant stakeholders
- Monitor and communicate progress of training effectiveness
- Stay abreast of latest external market trends in the Data Governance space and anticipate their impact on future capability requirements for IA
- Partner with the IA Communications team to develop, coordinate, and execute comprehensive communications related to IA’s Data Governance strategy
Knowledge and Experience:
- 4-7 years of relevant Data Governance experience
- BS/BA degree or equivalent combination of education/experience
- Good executive presence to navigate difficult situations through relationship building and by influencing others; confident and comfortable working with and managing expectations of stakeholders and senior management
- Strong English communication skills (written and oral) with an ability to take concepts and express them concisely and effectively
- Strong understanding of – and experience providing – timely, high-quality, insightful data analytics and reporting under tight deadlines and among multiple competing deliverables, with flexibility to prioritize workload accordingly
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with a proven ability to operate in a manually intensive data environment, extracting large volumes of data from disparate sources, cleansing, and validating it, and transforming it into high quality, insightful and succinct ‘Board-level’ and senior management reporting that includes focused analysis, trending, and strong summarization of results
- Intellectually curious, consistently evaluating “what is the data telling me?” and “why does it matter?"
- High level of proficiency with the MS Office Suite is essential, including Excel functions
- Strong coordination and project management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate across different functions and time zones
