The Governance & Controls team within USCD is a driven, collaborative team tasked with helping the organization deliver unparalleled, forward thinking digital customer experiences and products by assessing risk and identifying, and in some cases, executing appropriate mitigating controls.

This role plays a key role in the team’s mission. We are looking for someone able to strategically think and solve complex problems, weigh multiple perspectives and effectively communicate across organizations. A successful candidate will consistently assess USCDs control needs, then create processes and routines to address and execute them. This role is a recognized technical authority for an area within the business and requires basic industry awareness. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.

Responsibilities:

• Manages organization wide training programs centered around Controls & Process Overviews includes:
  • Development of relevant and up-to-date content working with groups across the organization
  • Execute intensive training schedule for new hires and annual updates, includes population identification, tracking, escalation and trouble shooting
  • Continued monitoring or control environment to address any knowledge gaps across organization
• Responsible for managing and supporting multiple risk and control programs for the organization including defining the strategy, approach, processes, quality, tools and reporting that provide risk management consistency and excellence..
• Work with USCD organization to ensure oversight on processes for both Process Maps and Procedure Manuals
• Establish meeting cadence with USCD organization; demonstrate partnership and provide ongoing value to USCD functional areas
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
• Works closely with business partners on findings and makes recommendations on risk mitigation strategy
• Examines procedures for consistency and gaps relative to regulations in addition to impacts on customer experience.
• Identifying Control Gaps & partnering with USCD Organization to close gaps
• Building a robust foundation of risk culture; establishing interaction model with internal and external teams (CBORC, ORM, ICRM, USCD Organization)
• Be a Center of Excellence for USCD risk identification & mitigation

Qualifications:

• 6-10 years relevant work experience in E2E project lifecycle digital and/or technology delivery, In Business Risk & Controls and/or process oriented roles
• Highly Adaptable - Remains calm and optimistic under pressure and/or ambiguous environment, and adapts well to unexpected situations. Solicits and embraces feedback from others to make changes to improve impact and effectiveness.
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
• Effective organizational influencing skills required.
• Excellent problem solving skills Ability to see the big pictures with high attention to critical details
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategy and process improvement initiatives.
• Strong communication, presentation, and influence skills, with ability to create a strong network of relationships among peers, internal partners, external constituencies, decision-makers, and stakeholders
• Solid process background with a continuous improvement mindset, identifying solutions to mitigate risk while maintaining lean, nimble processes
• Strong project management skills
• Curious and Courageous – Raises issues and challenges traditional approaches. Demonstrates an appetite to learn new things. Takes initiative and is not afraid to go against popular opinion.

• Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Master’s degree
