The Global Investment Lab (GIL) is an integral part of CGWI. The team is dedicated to delivering comprehensive, analytical and highly customized strategies with actionable solutions for relationships across four core pillars:
- Client Analytics (client-specific analytics and recommendations based upon clients' needs and portfolio holdings, covering assets and liabilities)
- Portfolio Strategy (articulation of global and regional themes, developing and positioning our strategy and solutions offering)
- Quantitative Solutions (model development and thought leadership that impact client investments through applied quant)
- Scalable Solutions (development of scalable analytical capabilities across wealth spectrum)
The Lab provides investment portfolio analysis and advice for clients across the four aforementioned pillars. The Lab’s work is of paramount importance to managing our client relationships. Its analysis universe covers asset allocation, portfolio optimization and construction, manager analysis, tailored solutions, risk management, capital market strategies, and statistical modeling.
The US Consumer Investment Lab Head will lead a team of seasoned investment professionals in providing investment solutions at scale. The team works within the CGWI construct to empower the Consumer sales force with wide-ranging support, allowing advisors to provide more insightful wealth conversations with clients, as well as the resources to scale their practice. This role will champion any and all aspects within the investment cycle, from providing comprehensive portfolio studies and recommendations, having deep knowledge of investment products, participating in client prospecting, to fostering a culture of providing informed advice via mass routines within US Consumer. The position has a responsibility for driving results, enabling sales and enhancing the bank’s revenue generating efforts. It would suit a strong networker who is proactive, flexible and energetic with an analytical and a commercial mindset.
Principal Responsibilities:
- CGWI Integration: Collaborate with key stakeholders of the Transformation efforts in order to expedite the rollout CGWI initiatives. The candidate should be highly knowledgeable of Citi’s Consumer business – from operations to the sales force and leadership team. The candidate should also serve as a liaison with Internal partners across CPB (Content, Capital Markets, Scalable Solutions, Control Partners, etc). Notably, this role will be responsible for ensure integration of Lab tools and capabilities, closing gaps in suitable client offerings that have historically been offered via legacy Private Bank or Consumer.
- Informed Advice Ecosystem: Develop a set of routines and processes in which Citi’s house-views and allocation ideas are delivered consistently and uniformly through the entire US Consumer business, from the sales force to the end client.

Internal Wholesaling: Champion the rollout, internal marketing, and manage a team of seasoned investment professionals in providing training, best practices to ensure adoption across the global organization.
- The wholesaling efforts should be promoted through various outlets – from travelling across the different wealth centers and engaging with the Consumer sales force directly, as well as morning calls, internal website dedicated to investments, investments implementation guides and any other business initiatives.
- Advisory Expansion: Become an advocate of advisory solutions across Consumer. Partner with the Investment Counselors and IMR teams to expand adoption and product feedback in order to promote best-practices in portfolio management. Educate the sales force in the different aspects of scaling advisory solutions to grow their practice.
- People Development: Coach and mentor employees in various aspects, from career and personal development to trainings of the different resources available to them.
- Risk and Controls: Be a champion of compliance in all aspects of daily operations. Have a keen emphasis of Citi’s control culture and be a partner of the control partners on all aspects of the integration.
- Remain informed of regulatory changes as well as new solutions, technologies or business trends across global wealth organizations.
Qualifications:
- 10 years’ experience in covering a multi-billion wealth management organization with hundreds of Financial Advisors across the U.S.
- Understanding the entire wealth management process, portfolio construction, asset classes, financial instruments, and markets.
- Highly proficient in a variety of investment products (mutual funds, SMAs, ETFs, fixed income, equities, alternatives)
- Previous experience in the asset management industry a huge plus.
- Experience in dealing with HNW/UHNW clients on an ongoing basis
- Effective and compelling communication skills (verbal / written / proposal).
- Previous experience with writing investment strategy and/or leading client webcasts a plus.
- Experience in managing projects across a large enterprise with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience with CapitalIQ, Bloomberg API, Pershing/NetX 360
- FINRA Series 7 & 66 registered
- Spanish language preferred
