What are the responsibilities and job description for the NAM AML Program Oversight - Project Manager for Screening and Sanctions NAM Cards position at Citi?
This role reports to the NAM AML Program Oversight – Reports to NAM Cards Screening and Sanctions Manager with responsibility for ensuring all processes executed in support of Cards, regardless of function, have appropriate governance and controls in place to evidence compliance with applicable regulations such as Bank Secrecy Act, PATRIOT Act, as well as applicable Citi Policies. This position serves as a partner to AML Compliance as well as Cards and AML audit and policy partners. This individual manages specific activity to include corrective action planning/tracking, project management, impact assessment and implementation plan oversight for NAM Cards line of business.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing processes and engaging with all relevant stakeholders, communicating with senior management and otherwise ensuring the success of the AML/KYC processes for NAM Cards.
- Leading the analysis and implementation of projects and corrective action plans for Screening and Sanctions.
- Track and manage all identified issues, and work with Business risk, compliance, Operations and technology to actively identify new policy gaps for the NAM Cards business.
- Facilitate both gap and root cause analysis (RCA) exercises between Legal, Compliance, Operations, Technology, Risk and the line of business and create action plans to push to resolution and ensure policy adherence.
- Manage execution of Screening and Sanctions policy related Corrective Action Plans (CAP) which Includes managing CAP milestones and execution timelines.
- Act as an SME for AML Screening and Sanctions Policies for NAM Cards and develop sustainable solutions to meet policy requirements and mitigate risk.
- Organize and lead management of exception reporting and remediation of policy exceptions for Cards businesses.
- Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan.
- Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
- Perform detailed analysis for complex recommendations to ensure appropriate risk/reward balance, including policy changes.
- Review policy/processes for impact assessments and establish effective action plans and/or implementation plans to ensure compliance.
Qualifications:
- 6-10 years of direct, relevant experience in financial service operations, control, compliance, audit, or regulatory management with knowledge of and experience with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and programs preferred.
- Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
- Project management and governance experience with the proven ability to develop project plans and drive a diverse group of stakeholders to identify and achieve milestones within deadlines.
- Superior organizational skills, with proven ability to successfully manage multiple, concurrent priorities in addition to strong judgment and critical thinking skills.
- Self-motivated with a passion for establishing and maintaining a culture of control within the business.
- Demonstrated relationship management skills with ability to deepen relationships, build partnerships, and influence a group of diverse stakeholders across the businesses and key functional support areas like Internal Audit, Legal, Compliance, Business Operational Risk Management, Government and Regulatory Affairs.
- Detail oriented, with proven ability to question and identify opportunities within existing processes and business practices by leveraging previous experiences and knowledge of the business.
- Deep functional knowledge of the Credit Cards and/or Retail Banking industries and applicable rules, regulations, and processes.
- Pragmatic problem-solver, forward thinker with independence of thought
- Knowledgeable about risk systems infrastructure including key processes, coverage and data flows in order to identify risk effectively
