JOB SUMMARY:
Consults clinical and advocacy staff in best practice for trauma informed care, case consultation, trauma protocol and training facilitation. Provides support for staff to process and debrief secondary trauma.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Functions as a consultant for all clinical and advocacy staff with regard to best practice in trauma informed care.
- Provides feedback and insight into case management from a systems perspective allowing for broader focus.
- Facilitates and provides training on aspects of trauma protocol as needed.
- Provides direction in defining standard operating protocol for the CitiLookout Trauma Recovery Center.
- Provides clinical expertise in case consultation.
- Provides support for clinicians and advocates to debrief and process secondary trauma.
PRINCIPAL CHALLENGES:
The principal challenge of this position is to foster support for and provide clinical expertise to the team of clinical staff and advocates as they serve trauma clients in healthy and clinically sound ways.
JOB LATITUDE AND AUTHORITY:
The Clinical Consultant performs duties under the supervision and authorization of the CitiLookout Executive Director.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
To perform competently in this position, the successful candidate will be a seasoned clinician, with expertise in trauma and supervision. The candidate will have strong understanding of systems and team approach to clinical work, referral networks and team culture. The candidate will have skill in leadership to provide strength to the team in various protocols and help the team evolve into an organized, effective collaborative. The candidate will be proficient in training, coaching and facilitation. The candidate will be proficient in technology to use distance learning and on-line training protocols as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A Master’s Degree in counseling or social work, holding a license in good standing in the State of Ohio. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of trauma informed therapy best practices, will stay current in best practice protocols and be proficient in training. The preferred candidate will have expertise in referral systems and organizational culture.
