Location: 100 E College Ave, Colby, Kansas
Position Information: The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for the evaluation of all major functions of the Food Service Department, which includes coordinating services to ensure high standards of food production and service and adequate nutritional care.
Responsible to Chief Clinical Officer
Days: Monday through Friday
Hours: 8:00 am through 5:00 pm
Pay Range: Starting wage and dependent upon experience;
What you’ll do:
- Provide Outpatient MNT and diet instructions/education when ordered by a physician.
- Provides training for food service staff as requested by Food Service Managers at CMC and PS.
- Conducts necessary nutritional screenings, assessments, interviews, and nutrition education for inpatients.
- Evaluates and monitors food service systems and make recommendations.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
What you bring to the table: (Minimum Requirements)
- Graduation from an accredited university with a degree in Dietetics.
- Registered Dietitian or registration eligible. Licensed to practice dietetics in the State of Kansas.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Skill in preparing and maintaining records, writing reports and responding correspondence.
- Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients and medical staff.
- Ability to maintain quality control standards.
- Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
- Ability to communicate clearly.

Typical Working Conditions:
This position may result in possible exposure to infection from disease-bearing specimens. The Medical Laboratory Technician is regularly exposed to the risk of bloodborne and airborne diseases, electrical and radiant energy hazards, potentially hazardous chemicals, odorous chemicals and specimens and must be able to handle emergency or crisis situations. This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented.
Typical Physical Demands:
Requires standing/walking 90% of the time to move throughout the hospital to obtain lab specimens, to run lab tests, to calibrate machines, etc. There is bending/stooping required in this 90% of the time for 40% of the time to draw specimens. Requires sitting 10% of the time to look in the microscope and perform blood bank functions. Requires exerting 50 pounds of force occasionally to move saline boxes and other supplies. Normal vision and hearing, with or without correction, that is adequate for all types of interpersonal communication are required. Requires manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination and analytical skills. This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented.
