This position is responsible for:
Consulting with case managers and senior litigation team members to assess and support technology needs and acting as project manager throughout all stages of the litigation process.
Preparing drafts of pleadings and discovery responses for attorney review; preparing legal documents, articles, and case summaries required for a case preparation.
Identifying gaps or missing documents in productions.
Collaborating with attorney on case strategy to successfully close the matter.
Preparing discovery responses, which include gathering information and documents from various departments and determining which information and/or documents are responsive to discovery requests.
Analyzing electronic media to determine content and the most effective ways to process the media.
Supporting the development of workflow and procedures documents.
Reviewing depositions and preparing summaries.
Maintaining and updating cases status in the document management system.
Drafting, submitting and tracking settlement legislation.
Coordinating litigation support services (court reporters, printers, etc.).
Associate’s degree or certification from a paralegal program, or 15 (fifteen) years as a senior paralegal (external) or demonstrated exceptional work experience as a Paralegal IV in the COA Department of Law.
