ABOUT THE MUSEUM
The White River Valley Museum provides an exciting and educational experience for visitors with award-winning exhibits and programs on regional cultures, arts, and history. The Museum's exhibits include a real settler cabin, a Muckleshoot canoe and caboose guests can walk through. Just a ten minute drive from the Museum is the Mary Olson Farm, a completely restored 1879 family subsistence farm that includes a 100 year old orchard, a historic barn, livestock, and a farmhouse for guests to tour. In this role, you will:
- Develop and oversee the education programs supporting the Museum and Farm's mission that includes, but isn't limited to, school fieldtrips, lectures, day camps, historic demonstrations, publications, and exhibits.
- Plan, organize, and oversee special educational and fundraising events held at the Museum and Farm.
- Recruit, train, and oversee a corps of volunteers and hourly staff who provide field trip activities, education programs, and events at the Museum and Farm.
We are looking for people who...
- Have a Bachelor's degree in education, museum studies, environmental education, history, or closely related field; AND
- Two (2) years of professional experience providing museum education programs, planning special events, environmental education, or living history; AND
- Possess and have the ability to retain a valid state driver's license without impending loss.
- A Master's degree
- Proven ability to design and deliver interactive, grade-appropriate educational activities for children
