In assisting staff with both daily tasks and new programs, volunteers enhance the levels of quality services the City of Auburn provides.
Museum, Arts & Events Volunteer Job Descriptions
Museum Volunteer: Museum and Farm volunteers help in many capacities. After training, volunteers serve as hosts/docents, help patrons conduct research, provide assistance cataloging the Museum's extensive artifact and photograph collection, lead school tours, maintain gardens at the Mary Olson Farm, and assist with livestock care at the Mary Olson Farm.
BRAVO! Auburn Arts Volunteer: Usher, take tickets, and pass out programs at the Performing Art programs. Programs take place throughout the year at either the Auburn Performing Arts Center and the Auburn Avenue Theater. Volunteers must commit to multiple performance dates throughout the series.
ArtRageous Art Zone Volunteer: Assist the lead artists with fun art-making activities at various summer events between May-August at locations around the city. Volunteers should be comfortable taking direction from the lead artists on how to best assist and actively interact with groups of people of all ages.
Auburn International Farmers Market Volunteer: The Market is held every Sunday from June through September from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Volunteers will assist with set-up and take down of chairs, tables, tents, assist with hands-on art activities, assisting vendors, and daily market duties.
Special Events Volunteer: Assist the event staff with large-scale events such Petpalooza, Kids Day, 4th of July Festival, AuburnFest, the Veterans Day Parade, etc. Tasks may include pre-event duties, such as envelope or goodie bag stuffing or on-site duties such as manning a craft table, checking in participants, distributing items or marketing materials, event clean up, etc. Visit our events page to learn more!
