Parks & Recreation Volunteer Job Descriptions
Youth Coach: Coaches will have the opportunity to become a certified coach through the National Alliance for Youth Sport (N.A.Y.S.). This will provide them with knowledge to teach children proper sports fundamentals in a fun-filled atmosphere, free from the pressures of highly competitive sports. We have coaching opportunities in: Winter – select basketball and dodge ball; Spring/Summer -baseball, girls fast pitch, track, select basketball; Fall -soccer, girls volleyball, and flag football.
Special Friends to Specialized Recreation: Assist specialized recreation participants in one-on-one or small group settings with sports, social and recreational programs, trips or excursions. Assist with coaching the Special Olympics training programs, teaching craft skills, assisting at special events and dinners, or chaperoning on a trip or excursion.
