Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions
Markets and promotes the City of Beaumont as a convention and meeting site by making presentations to sporting organizations, convention and trade show site selection groups with major emphasis on the sports market. Maintains accounts relating to sports and conventions in accordance with established policies and procedures; responsible for managing and developing accounts; coordinates programs designed to entice local citizens to support sporting, convention and meeting development; assists in planning sales blitzes. Attends tradeshows, marketplaces, and conducts out-of-town sales calls to promote Beaumont as a meeting destination. Prepares reports as required; analyzes sports markets and develops marketing direction, strategies and techniques. Responsible for marketing efforts including the annual Beaumont CVB Strategic Marketing Plan. Builds and implements innovative programs and marketing initiatives for both tourism and sales with organizational personnel in efforts to grow and build visitation and overnight stays. Oversees all website content, social media postings, ad placements, billboard updates, development of marketing materials and updates to the Regional Visitor Guide. Oversees the maintenance of the CRM partner database and Extranet and any annual content and messaging strategies for website development. Manages staff with the responsibility of creating/writing and distributing blogs, press releases and quarterly newsletters on behalf of the Beaumont Convention & Visitors Bureau. Assist with meeting/sales marketing requests and manage Meet Beaumont marketing techniques and provide support to sales team marketing terms. Manage and carry out tasks with marketing & tourism teams for local events, trade shows, and travel showcases.

Knowledge : Knowledge of convention, trade show and event business; knowledge of marketing, sales and public relations techniques; knowledge of computers and various software.
Skills/Abilities
Skill in making sales presentations; excellent organizational and writing skills; extensive skill in the use of personal computers; ability to speak and/or make presentations to groups of various sizes; ability to work well with staff, other city departments and the press; creativity a plus.
Physical Requirements
Constantly sees, hears, sits, types, operates a PC and writes by hand; frequently files, sorts, twist body, pushes, pulls, lifts or carries objects weighing up to 25 lbs., stands, walks, operates a calculator, enters data and drives; infrequently kneels, cleans.
Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree with major course work in marketing and one (1) year related experience; minimum two (2) years' experience in sales; hospitality or event sales experience preferred.
