Essential Job Functions: Assists in coordinating, promoting and implementing a variety of recreational activities and programs; prepares and distributes flyers and posters; sets up recreation facilities for events; prepares and maintains calendars, bulletin boards and attendance reports; teaches recreational classes to youth, adults and persons with disabilities as needed; may be required to perform general clerical duties. Must be able to perform routine and general maintenance; i.e., sweep, mop, scrub floors, and empty trash.

Skills/Abilities: Skill in operating automobile, light trucks and vans; skill in teaching activities to youths, adults and persons with disabilities; ability to read and write ; ability to use various hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers and hammers; ability to interact with public groups and subordinated; ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing; ability to supervise recreational activities.
Physical Requirements: Constantly sees and hears; stands, stoops and writes by hand; frequently drives, files, walks and twists body; infrequently operates a pc, calculator, cleans, kneels, runs, squats, sits, climbs, carries, drags, holds, pushes, pulls, and lifts objects weighing up to 100 lbs.
Education/Experience: Graduation from high school or equivalent; minimum one (1) year experience in assisting in recreational activities, or equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job.
