SUMMARY Under direction from the IT Director, the IT Facilities Coordinator will work closely with the IT Service Desk Coordinator to support all IT managed facility services for all City of Bentonville properties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Reporting relationships, work assignments, and work schedules may be subject to change in order to meet City needs or operational requirements. Attendance at work and the ability to get along with the public, supervisors, and co-workers are essential elements of this position. Other duties may be assigned.
Designs and maintains facilities level systems such as Audio/Visual Systems and Security Systems.
Designs and supports structured cabling on Bentonville properties.
Provides administrative support and manages office functions including: work order coordination, security badge and access assignments, daily office operations, budgeting, maintaining office records, and provides general support services for the City Department.
Responsible for overseeing the following systems within the City of Bentonville’s facilities:
- Conference Room Audio Visual Systems
- Fire & Burglar Alarm Systems
- Network Cabling
- TV, Displays & Projectors
- Power for IT related equipment
- Door Access Control
- Video Cameras
- Multi-Function Copiers
- Fiber Optic Cabling
Provides system responsibility level for:
- Planning
- Design
- Procurement
- Basic Configuration
- Operations
- Troubleshooting
- Maintenance & Repair
Manages and documents service requests through the ServiceDesk software.
Assists in IT related ServiceDesk requests where required.
Provides conference room set-ups and onsite support as required.
Provides training to city employees on facility systems use when required.
Attends after-hours meetings to ensure proper operation as required
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position does not have any direct reports.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma / GED or equivalent required. Associates’ Degree in Business, Information Technology or related field, preferred, or 3 – 5 years equivalent, relevant experience preferred, or an equivalent amount of education and experience. One (1) year help desk experience; background in Local Government Infrastructure desired. 2 Years’ experience coordinating IT projects and familiarity with Microsoft Suite of products including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Fiber optics installation and operations desired. Ability to interpret and update City and Facility maps of relevant systems and infrastructure. Experience with A/V hardware vendors such as Creston and Atlona.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
