Hiring Range: $22.20 - $27.10 Job Description Summary: The Human Resources Department is seeking an HR Coordinator be the first point of contact for customer inquiries and to coordinate day-to-day operations of a wide variety of human resources activities. This position may also be hired on a temporary basis in which case the duties may vary slightly or be limited based on time in the role and previous knowledge, skills, and experience of the individual. Job Description: JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Employee Experience & Communications Provide excellent customer service for general human resources questions via phone, email, service tickets and during in-person interactions. Triage inquiries as appropriate and escalate concerns when needed. Work collaboratively with the HR Operations team and key cross-functional groups to share knowledge of emerging issues and proactively deliver service to improve the employee experience. Make updates as directed to HR Operations team process documentation and employee resource documents. Support the review of employee resource documentation across the HR Department. Support planning and execution of in-person and online employee events related to HR, CMO, or department initiatives and programs as requested. This may include reserving event space, scheduling vendors, ordering food, sending communications, assisting with day of set-up and break-down activities, greeting and assisting vendors and event guests, etc. HR Administrative Support Onboarding. Collect, review, and approve pre-employment documentation such as I-9s, etc. Follow-up as necessary to ensure timely completion of onboarding steps. HR Operations. Review and process employee changes in the HRIS in an expeditious manner. Ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws, city policies, and union agreements. Conduct various regular audits to ensure data integrity. Collaborate with Benefits, Compensation and Payroll teams to support timely and precise pay checks. Offboarding. Ensure employees are informed about department and HR specific procedures, such as returning city property, updating their contact information, the process for their final time entry and paycheck, how to access their W-2s, etc. Refer employees to the appropriate HR team member for an exit interview, retirement planning, or final payout of leave accruals. Maintain employee files. Respond to requests related to open data, employment verification, internal audits, etc. Facilitate logistics for the HR department’s meetings/events. Maintain HR physical office space, including managing office supplies and entering facilities requests. Pay and reconcile department invoices and purchasing cards. Support the HR team with special projects. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS High school diploma 2 years of customer service experience A passion for customer service and delivering a customer service experience that exceeds expectations Adept at problem solving, learning on the fly, and diving into the detail to troubleshoot issues Ability to write effective email responses and discern when to call customers to explain complex issues and resolutions Ability to balance multiple tasks Ability to manage information of a confidential nature requiring considerable discretion Meticulous attention to detail Preferred Qualifications Experience in an HR related role with involvement in or exposure to a range of processes and practices. Interest in developing a career in Human Resources WORKING CONDITIONS/ACCOMMODATIONS Physical Demands: Primarily sedentary physical work requiring the ability to lift a maximum of 20 pounds; occasional lifting, carrying, walking and standing; frequent hand/eye coordination to operate personal computer and office equipment; vision for reading, recording and interpreting information; ability to communicate with employees and the public. Capable of driving between city supported buildings and to meetings in the Denver metro area as needed. Work Environment: Works primarily in an office environment. Machines and equipment used include but are not limited to the following: Frequent use of standard business and professional tools and equipment including laptop computers, mobile computing devices, and telephones.
