To be minimally qualified, one must meet the following criteria:

• A Bachelor's degree is required, a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Sciences is preferred, plus two years demonstrated experience in reference services, information literacy standards, and comprehensive technology skills, as well as experience with and/or coursework in focal history and genealogical resources.
• Professional knowledge of Reference and Information theory.
• Thorough knowledge of CWMARS1 ILS (Evergreen)
• Thorough knowledge of contemporary Anglo-American Cataloging Rules (AACR), Dewey Decimal Classification, Library of Congress Subject Headings, and National Archives Digitization Standards.
• Thorough knowledge of information literacy instruction and database usage.
• Thorough knowledge of copyright laws and issues
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, associates, subordinates, officials of other agencies, and the public.
• Comprehensive computer skills, including all Office programs and software applications supportive of Library presentations and applications.
• Organizational ability and strong public service orientation.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize, and adapt to changing needs and technologies.

• Promotes library services and provides tours.
• Professionally communicating with all visitors, patrons, and staff
• Provides presentations to community groups and workshops in local history and genealogy.
• Organizes, catalogues, promotes, procures, exhibits, maintains, preserves local history collection.
• Assists with the development and implementation of programs, strategies, and methodologies to increase customer awareness of library resources.
• Secures and implements grant funding from a variety of sources.
• Maintains a working knowledge of Mass education curriculum requirements.
• Performs related work as required.

Salary: Grade A05, Step 01 – Starting at $20.80 per hour
