What are the responsibilities and job description for the Law Clerk position at City of Dearborn?
SALARY: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour depending upon previous experience and/or assessed capabilities.
HOURS OF WORK: Maximum of 28 hours per week.
This is a year round position, not a summer clerkship.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF WORK:
This is part-time work assisting attorneys in the preparation of court cases and legal opinions by performing related data-gathering and research activities as well as related office detail. Work is assigned by the Corporation Counsel or an attorney who supervises the employee.

- Some knowledge of federal, state and local laws.
- Ability to gather and research data using on-line and hardcover resources.
- Ability to express oneself both orally and in writing.
- Ability to effectively follow both oral and written instructions.
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.

- Must have own transportation for driving to various courts, a valid Michigan Driver’s License, and a good driving record.
