Performs supervisory duties involving progressively responsible experience with the coordination of crews engaged in the Streets divisions. The employee performs related work as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Schedule, plan, direct and assist the activities of work crews engaged in the Streets divisions.
- Responsible for supervising and organizing the work of and assuring the technical correctness of functions performed by other Foreman, Equipment Operators, semi-skilled and unskilled laborers within the division
- Establish policies, methods and procedures to be followed by work crews
- Investigates citizen complaints and takes or recommends appropriate action
- Maintains a variety of operational records
- Monitors equipment utilization and maintenance, recommends replacements and may participate in the preparation of specifications for and the acquisition of equipment
- May requisition, purchase and/or maintain supplies
- Ability to operate all equipment in Streets division, including backhoes, track hoes, bulldozer, dump trucks, and frontend loaders.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Progressive knowledge of the methods and techniques used to supervise and coordinate work crews in the work area
- Progressive knowledge of the tools, equipment and materials used in the assigned work area
- Extensive knowledge of departmental policies and procedures
- Progressive knowledge and skill in operating the tools and equipment used in the assigned area
- Ability to train, direct and supervise the work of subordinate employees
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have high school diploma/GED
- Must have valid Class A CDL
- Must have valid driving record sufficient for coverage by City’s auto liability carrier at the time of placement
- Excellent public relations skills
